The Teabag Hat

This is an handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art.

I started her with the idea of creating a little Forest Spirit but she had a mind of her own and better ideas for herself so I followed her hints.
She is a weird little character and has adopted a teabag for her hat, it is a big part of her personality, she never goes without.
Her hair is made of sheep curls in very light green tones. She has only one eye, a beautiful black glass one. Her clothes are made of upcycled fabrics and her legs are made of wire wrapped in natural wool.
She holds a bunch of yellow flowers in her arms (collected from my garden last summer and painted with yellow acrylic paint), one of her arms is a stick of wood.

She is a lovely little one and is ready to keep you company and to be displayed on your walls thanks to a loop that I have sewn on her back. She needs to be kept away from direct sunlight and from any source of water.
She cannot stand on her own.
She is signed.

She measures approximately 22 cm or almost 9 inches.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
