A lovely Fairy

This is a handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art.

This little fairy is super cute with her long black hair (felting wool) and big smile.
She is handmade from textiles (a mix of upcycled and new) that I have stained/dyed with coffee and/or tea for a unique look.
Her little nose is stitched as well as her smile while her eyes are painted with acrylic.
Her wings are made from spun cotton painted with both watercolour and acrylic paint.

She is signed and I have added a little loop at the back of her head so she can be displayed nicely and easily in your home.
Please display away from direct sunlight and keep away from any contact with water.

She is tiny at 13cm tall (5.1inches tall).

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
