Two friends

This is a handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art dolls.

I love foxes and I am lucky to often see some in the back gardens (even though I live in a city). They are noisy but also pretty peaceful and so beautiful to look at. I also love to give fox friends as companions to my little ladies, they always look great together.
This one is no exception I think.
They were both made with textiles. The doll was given a tea and coffee bath to get beautiful stains. I drew her eyes,stitched a smile and a nose. Her hair is made from felting wool.
Her outfit is made of upcycled textiles.
Little fox is painted with acrylic.

Measurements
This artwork measures approximately 21cm or 8.27 inches.

This is not a toy, she was created as an artwork, for display only.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
