This is a handmade mixed media artwork inspired by folk art dolls.

This little one is looking really surprised and I am honestly not sure why. Maybe she cannot remember where she left her carrot (it's in her arms but if you wear glasses on a regular basis, you DO know these things happen...) or perhaps she cannot remember where she is supposed to go (if you are over a certain age, you know this DOES happen too....).
What I know about her is that she is a very lovely little character made from upcycled materials. Her bunny ears used to be a child cardigan and her skirt was one of my daughters 'summer dresses.
Her face is made of air drying clay and her hair is made of a vibrant orange felting wool.
She holds a textile carrot in her arms and wears a pretty skirt with a pocket and her portrait painted on a teabag sewn on.
She also wears a pair of trousers and even has a white bunny tail. Clothes are not removable, they are sewn on her.

On the back, I have sewn a little loop so she can be nicely displayed on your walls. She cannot stand on her own. She can sit against a wall.
Please display away from direct sunlight and from any source of water.
She measures approximately 18.5cm or 7.10 Inch.

She is signed.

She is not a toy, she was created for display only.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
