Miss PumpkinPie the witch
This is a handmade textile artwok inspired by folk art.
Little Miss PumpkinPie is a very happy witch and she loves nothing more than going for a little daily trip, flying on her brand new broomstick. She never forgets her pretty witchy hat and holds on tight on her little familiar, a very cute black kitten.
Miss PumpkinPie is handmade from textiles that I have painted black with acrylic paint. Her broomstick is made from a piece of wood and some rustic twine.
She has a mini pumpkin sewn on her hat, wears a pair of black bloomers-like shorts and boots on her unstuffed legs.
She is attached onto her broomstick.
I have sewn a little loop on the back of her head so she can be displayed nicely and easily in your home. Please keep away from direct sunlight as well as from any contact with water.
The artwork is signed.
Measurements
It measures approximately 21cm or 8.3 Inch tall and 18cm or 7Inch wide (broomstick width).
As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
