Honey Eye, Forest Spirit

This is a handmade textile artwok inspired by folk art dolls.

Honey-Eye is a beautiful little Soul who lives in territories our human eyes cannot see.
She is handmade from a mix of new and upcycled materials.
Her body is made of calico cotton dyed with Inktense. Her face is made of paperclay and her eye is painted the colour of golden honey with acrylic paint.
Her hair is made of natural sheep curls and on top of her head she wears antlers made of a little bit of stick of wood I had kept in my stick collection for years.

She is signed and was designed to be displayed as an artwork, she is fragile.

Measurements:

She is approximately 16cm/6.3 Inch tall and 7cm/2.7 Inch wide at the widest (the antlers).

Please display away from direct sunlight and keep away from any sources of water.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
