MamaBear and BabyBear

This is a handmade textile artwok inspired by folk art dolls and by well loved teddybears.

Mama Bear and Baby Bear have put their favourite dresses on to go out for a little walk.
Both bears are made from a mix of new and upcycled materials. Their bodies are cut in calico cotton and I have transformed the fabric by staining, dyeing and painting it. The outfits are sewn on the bears, they have also been stained at places.
Baby Bear eye is a black glass eye while Mama Bear's has been painted.
The little one is safely attached to her mother.
At the back, I have sewn a fabric loop so they can be displayed nicely and easily on your walls.
Please display away from direct sunlight and keep away from any sources of water.

Measurements
The artwork measures approximately 19 cm or 7.4 Inch.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
