Big Heart

This is a handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art dolls.

I thought the world needed extra cuteness lately so I created this really lovely and oh, so cute, Little One.
She is made from tea dyed fabric. She has two purple glass eyes, a big smile with the cutest front teeth and beautiful red cheeks. Her hair is made from pink felting wool and she wears an oversized purple bow. She also has two big ears.
Her outfit is full of patches and she has two red boots (painted). On her arms, she holds tight on a heart with patches and a scar. Is it hers or is she holding it for someone she loves? This is a story foryou to invent, there is no right answer.

She measures approximately 20 cm or 8 inches.
She is signed and has a little loop at the back of the head so she can be hung on your walls nicely. She cannot stand or sit on her own, but can sit against a wall, a book on a shelf.

She is not a toy.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This is how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
