Blue Eyes, a Forest Spirit

This is a handmade textile artwok inspired by folk art dolls.

I love creating dolls inspired by nature and using some of the little "treasures" I find during my walks to create them. Blue Eyes is made from multiple layers of textiles that I have previously dyed or stained with coffee, paints and inks. Her tail is a snail shell painted golden. She has one arm that I have carved in a wooden stick. Her eyes are painted with acrylic paint and her hair is a mix of bamboo fibers and felting wool. She has two antennas on her head held by two little beads. Her wings are made of fabrics.
I have sewn a little loop on her back so she can be displayed nicely in your home. She is signed.

Please display away from direct sunlight and keep away from any contact with water/humidity.

Blue Eyes, a Forest Spirit is approximately 12cm or 4.7 inches tall and 12cm or 4.7 inches long at her widest.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
