Whisper, a Forest Spirit

This is an handmade textile artwok inspired by folk art dolls.

While I was working on this beautiful little one, the word whisper kept coming in my mind. I took it as a sign that it was her name and also it helped me restraining my first idea to add a lot more details to it. She is actually perfect as she is, mysterious and strange, gentle and peaceful, a little whisper , a soft quiet moment against the noise of our world.

Whisper is handmade from a mix of new and upcycled materials. Her hair is made of white bamboo fiber and white felting wool, her blue eye is painted with acrylic paint. Her arm is a stick of wood wrapped in blue muslin cloth. on her chest, I have stitched dried and painted pink, flowers saved from my garden.

At the back, she has a loop sewn on so she can be displayed easily in your home. Please keep away from diresct sunlight and from any contact with a source of water/humudity.

Measurements
She measures approximately 19cm or 7.4 inches in length and is 10cm or 3.9 inches wide at her widest (snail shell like part).

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
