Bun Sprite

This is a handmade mixed media artwork inspired by antique dolls.

When I started working on this doll, I wanted to create a kind of little snail with a doll head but as time passed, she gently whispered her ideas to me and she ended up becoming a little bun sprite (you know, the cinnamon kind?), which I agree with her, suits her perfectly.

So this little Sprite's head is made from paperclay and her hair is flax.
Her body is made with fabric, lace, paint, beads and many extra stitches.

She is signed at the back and is ready to be displayed on your walls.
She measures approximately 15cm in length and 10 in width.
She is not a toy.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This is how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
