Happy days
This is a handmade textile artwok inspired by folk art.
My youngest daughter's bigger dream is to get a dog and I can only imagine that she would grin just like this little one if her wish could come true.
This sweet duo is made from a mix of new and upcycled materials.
The girl's hair is made of plaited mohair wool. Her smile is stitched, her eyes are drawn with acrylic markers.
She wears a dress (not removable, it is sewn on her body) with a pocket and patches. Her boots are painted black with white laces. She has one leg noticibly longer than the other.
In her arms, she is holding a little dog made of painted calico.
In the back she is signed and has a loop at the back of her head (not pictured) so she can be displayed nicely and easily on your walls. She cannot stand nor sit.
Please display away from direct sunshine and from any contact with water.
Measurement
She measures approximately 24 cm or 9.44 inches.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
