Teddy Girl

This is a handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art dolls and bears.

I always love to create little characters who look like they have been well loved in a previous life. I think it especially works well with little bears as they are so often gifted to new babies and have the more chance to become a "Best Childhood Friend".

This little one is made from grey linen. I have randomly added stains, stitches and tears on her. On her back, it looks like her stuffing is out of her body. I have also added patches and hanging threads to five her a worn out look.
One of her eyes is drawn while the other is a button.
She holds a bunch of painted "flowers" in her arms.

At the back, she has a little loop so she can be hung on your walls. She cannot stand nor sit.
She is signed.

Measurements
She is approximately 16.5cm or 6.5 inches tall, she is also pretty thin.
Please display away from direct sunlight or from any water/humidity source.

This is not a toy.
As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
