Big Heart in Blue

This is a handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art dolls.

This little one is super sweet with her little teeth, blue hair and big heart she carries in her arms.
She is handmade from a mix of new and upcycled materials. Her eyes are glass eye (like the teddy bears' eyes), one is black while the other is light pink.
Her nose, cheeks, ears and smiles are stitched, her teeth are painted white. She has blue hair made from felting wool.

Her outfit is sewn on her. In her arms she holds a big heart with scars and patches.
I painted blue shoes on her feet and I have added laces made with embroidery floss.

She is signed.
She has a little loop at the back of the head so she can be hung on your walls easily. She can also sit nicely on a shelf against a wall or a book. She cannot sit or stand on her own.
Please display away from direct sunlight and from any contact with a source of water/humidity.

Measurements

She measures approximately 25cm or 9.85 inches.

This is not a toy.
As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
