The Blue Eye

This is a handmade mixed media artwork inspired by folk art dolls.

It is made with paper clay and textiles.
The head and one hand are made of paperclay. The hair is styled from felting wool in a beautiful orange colour. She has red cheeks and a single blue eye.
She also has only one hand.
Her outfit is made from upcycled textiles.
I have added two little pockets, she can slide her hand in the right one.
Her legs are two bits of woods attached to her body in such a way that they are gently dangling.
She wears a little party hat in red tones (not removable).

She is signed at the back and I have sewn a metal ring on her back so she can be displayed on your walls. She cannot stand nor sit on her own but she can sit on a shelf against a wall or some big object.

Please, keep away from direct sunlight and from any source of water. Due to the fact that she is made from paperclay, she will also be a bit more fragile than textile only dolls.

Measurements
She is approximately 28 cm tall (11 inches).

This is not a toy.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This is how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
