The Blue Eye Girl

This is a handmade mixed media artwork.

This little beauty is wearing her favourite bunny hat (not removable) and holding tight on her cherished teddy.

She is handmade, her face and "feet" are sculpted in air drying clay. Her face is showing some defects (like for example under her eye or neck) that have been left on purpose and are part of her story. She has one single eye, painted blue with golden dots.
Her hair is made of black felting wool.
She wears a top made of pale yellow muslin cloth. Her skirt is sewn in a vintage W. Morris floral design, called Chrysanthemum Minor. I have added a few patches on it and I have also sewn a small portrait painted on a teabag.
The doll legs are covered with grey linen.
Please note that the clothes and hat are not removable, they are sewn on the body.
On her back, I have added a little loop so she can be displayed nicely and easily on your walls.
The doll cannot stand and cannot sit at all.
Please display away from direct sunlight and from any sources of water/humidity.

This is not a toy, this is an art doll designed for display only and for minimal handling.

Measurements
She measures approximately 23cm or 9 Inch.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
