The Forgotten SnowGirl

This is a handmade mixed media artwork.

Sometimes, some dolls take a lot more time to make than others. I start working on them and for one reason or the other, I have to stop. Usually, it is because I have not yet understood who they wanted to be. I call them The Forgotten although they are never truly forgotten as I see them every day. They keep me company, in their in-between state, patiently waiting for me to hear their whispers.
This little soul is one of them. I remember that when I started working on her, I had the idea of a more conventional snowman in my mind. After months of waiting, she suddenly became a pretty different character that you can see today.

Her head is made of joint compound plaster and she has a black glass eye.
Her dress was cut in a vintage doll dress. The little red scarf was also part of the doll's outfit. I have added beads pretending to be buttons. She has only one arm made of a stick of wood.
Her two legs are whittled bits of woods. She has a little bloomer like shorts.

At the back, she is signed.
I have sewn a loop so she can be displayed nicely on your walls.
She can not stand but she can be sitted if supported against a book on a shelf for example.

Measurements
She measures approximately 23cm or 9 inches.
Please display away from direct sunlight and keep away from any contact with water/humidity.

s a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
