Tuxedo cat and fish friend

This is a handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art.

This beautiful little tuxedo cat is wearing a very pretty dress made from upcycled materials. The top is a pink polka dot and the skirt part is a floral pattern. I have sewn an edge with another contrasting floral pattern. I have added a few patches on the skirt for a bit of well loved look.
In her arms, she holds her best friend, a blue little fish with a little fin popping.
The cat and the fish are painted with acrylic.
The cat's whiskers, freckles and ears were stitched.

In the back, she is signed and I have added a loop so she can be nicely displayed in your home.
Please display away from direct sunlight and from any contact with water.
This is not a toy.

Measurements
She measures approximately 21.5 cm or 8.46 inches.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
