Two little birds

This is a handmade mixed media artwork made with textiles and spun cotton.

This little one's head is made from spun cotton painted with acrylic. Due to the material used, the texture is full of small irregularities that I do enjoy a lot in my work. Her hair is made of a small bunch of curly mohair wool.

Her body is made from a mix of new and upcycled textiles. She is holding a small orange and strange bird in her arms. The bird is made of textiles, dyed with inktense and I have added a few embroidery stitches all over.

Measurements
This artwork measures approximately 13cm or 5 inches.

There is a loop in the back so it can be displayed on your walls.
The art doll can be sitted against a book or bigger object on a shelf.
Please display away from direct sunlight and from any contact with water.

This is not a toy. The artwork is signed.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
