Blue Girl

This is a handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art and by my very early dolls.

This little blue girl was born from a wish to create dolls the way I used to when I first started on my doll making journey. It means that she is a pretty simple little one made with fabric, paint and plenty of stitches.
She was stained with coffee and after a little incident, I decided to paint her blue which was the best thing that could have happened to her.
Her "dress" is painted white with black circles.
Her hair is made of painted fabric.
I stitched a nose and a smile.
Under her left arm, she carries a big heart with a scar.

She measures approximately 13cm.
She is signed.

Please display away from direct sunlight and from any contact with water.

She is not a toy, she was created as an art object.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
