Blue stripes

This is a handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art.

This cute little calico cat is made from a mix of new and upcycled materials. I have painted her colours with acrylic paint while some details are stitched.
She wears a striped blue dress, patched with colourful bits of fabrics. She also wears a little bow on her head.
In her arms she wears a red ball of wool which she probably mischievously stole from her human, because it is a fun thing to play with....
At the back, I have added a little loop so she can be displayed nicely on your walls.
She cannot sit. She can stand if propped against an object (she can be a bit wobbly).
She is also signed.

Measurements
She measures approximately 17 cm or 6.6 inches.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
