Christmas Bear Fairy

This is a handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art and by Christmas.

This sweet little bear is a Christmas Fairy and she cannot wait to celebrate her 1st festive season in her forever family.

She is handmade from a mix of new and upcycled materials and she holds a poppy seed head from my garden.
She wears a pretty red dress with a white collar and a white trimming. Her wings are made of calico, the front is covered with a lining of muslin cloth.
At the back, I have sewn a little loop and she is signed.

She measures approximately 14cm or 5.3 inches.

Please, display away from direct sunlight and keep away from any contact with water.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
