Kitty Friend

This is an handmade textile artwok inspired by folk art dolls.

It features a very happy little character with a big toothy smile holding a cute little ccat in her arms. The little girl has long black hair ornate with a slightly oversized bow like children often love to pop on their heads. She has one painted eye, the other is a stitched cross. Her teeth are painted too.
She wears a dress made of upcycled textiles. Her legs are two wooden sticks.
Her little friend is made of textiles and is painted in calico colours.
The doll stands on a little wood slice painted white.

Measurements
It measures approximately 16 cm or 6.3 inches.

It is signed.
This is not a toy.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
