Swift, A Forest Spirit (reserved for S.)

Swift, is s little Forest Spirit made from textiles and found objects.

She is a beautiful little soul carefully crafted around the natural elements I found during my walks.
Like all my Forest Spirits, she is a strange and wild little one.
Her body is made from drifted wood and I gave her an external spine made from a stick. She has an arm made of fabric and wood while she has a woodpecker feather on the other side.
Her head is sewn in fabric and she has a single black glass eye.
A string of black hair (felting wool) and a tiny snail shell on her head are making her part of nature.

She has a loop at the back of her head, so she can be displayed on your walls.

She is pretty thin and measures approximately 20cm lengthways.

Please display away from direct sunlight and keep away from any source of water.

She is not a toy, she was created as an art object.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
