Miss Champignon

This is an handmade mixed media artwork inspired by folk art dolls.

This lovely little character is made from textiles except for her head and mushroom cap which are made with spun cotton.
I enjoy adding spun cotton elements in my work because it is a material which will retain many irregularities and flaws that I often like to feature in my work.
One eye of my character is painted, the other is a black bead sewn in. Her hair is made of black felting wool.
She wears a cute little outfit made from upcycled materials. Her legs are painted black with white stripes.

Measurements
She measures approximately 18cm or 7 inches.
She can sit on her own but cannot stand.
She has a loop on her back so she can be displayed easily and nicely on your walls.
Please, keep away from direct sunlight and from any contact with any source of water/humidity.

She is signed.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
