My lovely kitten

This is a mixed media artwork inspired by folk art dolls.

The little doll is standing on a wooden log slice for a rustic effect. Her two legs are made of wooden sticks.
She is then made from a mix of new and old textiles.
Her dress comes from a vintage doll dress. On her face, I have stitcheda little nose and a big smile with a few painted teeth. Her unique eye is painted. She has bright orange hair made from felting wool.
In her arms, she holds a tiny calico kitten and I would think that this is the reason why she looks so happy.
The kitten is painted calico colour and I have a few stitches for her nose, mouth and whiskers.

The artwork is signed.
It measures approximately 15 cm or 6 inches.
It should be displayed away from direct sunlight and from any source of water.

This is not a toy.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This is how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
