Pumpkin Poppy

This is a handmade mixed media artwork inspired by Halloween.

The head of this little one is made from spun cotton and her body is built from fabrics.
I have painted her head a pretty bright orange, just like I did with her arms. She is holding on a poppy seed head (empty of any seeds). She wears a nice polka dot top and stripy skirt with a few patches.

She is signed.

Measurements:
She measures approximately 16cm or 6.3 inches.
Please keep away from direct sunlight and from any contact with a source of water. I have sewn a little loop on her back so she can be displayed nicely on your walls. She cannot stand and she cannot sit.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
