The pointy hat witch

This is a handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art dolls.

This little witch is really proud to finally be able to sit on her broomstick (there has been a few falls....).
She is now happily flying away, wearing her pointy witchy hat, and holding a pumpkin in her arms. She is made from a mix of new and upcycled materials. Her hair is made of black felting wool.
Her hat, dress, tights and boots have been painted black with acrylic. The skirt is patched with a few bits of colourful fabrics and she has a key attached to her waist.
Her broomstick was carved in a stick of wood found during a walk with my daughters. The little witch is sewn in a sitting position on it.

I have sewn a little loop on the back of her head so she can be displayed nicely and easily in your home. Please keep away from direct sunlight as well as from any contact with water.

The artwork is signed.
Measurements
It is approximately 23cm/9 Inch tall and 16 cm/6.3 Inch at its widest (broom width).

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
