The Princesses

This is a handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art dolls.

I had lots of fun making these siamese sisters and their little Piggy friend. They are handmade from a mix of new and upcycled materials.
Their eyes are painted, their noses and mouths are stitched.
I have used some vibrant red felting wool for their hair, I like how it matches their shoes (painted too).
In their arms, they are holding their precious little friend made from fabric and paint. Each sister wears a crown made of papier mâché.

I have sewn a little loop at the back of the neck so they can be displayed nicely on your walls.

Measurements

They are 23cm/9 inches long and 5cm/2 inches wide at the max.

Please display away from direct sunlight and from any contact with water.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
