The Happy Witch

This is a handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art dolls.

I have made my witch from textiles that I have the painted in black. I always like to use paint on fabrics because it gives a rough and rustic effect that I like to see.
The Witch's hair is made of felting wool.
Her hat is only half of a hat, I liked that it looked a bit like a cap too.
I have sewn a collar an a button as well as a bit of lace to give the idea of a skirt.
She wears black tights with white stripes.
She holds a little black cat in her arms.

Please, keep away from direct sunlight and from any source of water. Due to the fact that she is made from paperclay, she will also be a bit more fragile than textile only dolls.

Measurements
She is approximately 18 cm tall (7 inches).

This is not a toy.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This is how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
