The pink skirt

This is an handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art.

It features two little bears, a mum and a little one.
The bears are made from coffee stained calico. I like to use coffee as I can create stains that I find interesting in my work.
The eyes of the bears are painted with acrylic and her "shirts" are painted as well, white for mum, pink for the little one. The skirts and collars are made from fabric and/or embroidery stitches.

Little bear is standing in front of her mum's leg. I enjoy creating these duos because it reminds me of sweet memories of when my two daughters were little and acting like little bear.

At the back, the artwork is signed and I have added a little loop so they can be displayed on your walls.
Please, keep away from direct sunlight and from any source of wetness.

Measurements:
Approximately 17 tall and 8.5 cm long at the widest width.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
