This is an handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art dolls.

It is also inspired by my longing for Spring, warm, longer days and the colourful bloom of all flowers in the gardens.

This doll is made with fabric, acrylic paint, beads and a vibrant red coloured felting wool for the hair.

At the back, it has a little loop so it can be nicely hung on your walls.
She can sit against a book on a shelf but not on her own. She cannot stand.
She measures approximately 23cm.
She is signed.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
