Wild Hair a Forest Spirit

This is an handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art and by my longing for living near a woodland.

This little Spirit is called Wild Hair because as I was attaching her hair (black felting wool) to her head, it took a funny shape that I loved a lot, like two horns. I tamed a bit one side but decided to leave the other wilder.
She is made from calico dyed in yellow colour. She has a single glass eye, a stitched nose, mouth and teeth.
Her body is wrapped in muslin cloth (or cheese cloth) that I have also
Dyed in purplish tones.
She has a single arm, a wooden stick wrapped in white cloth and tied with brown thread.
Her legs are also made from wooden stick, one is wrapped in a light green cloth, while the other is bare.on her chest and by her necj and head, I have stitched dried stems as flowers. On her head, I have also added helicopter seeds which give her a feline mood I think.

She measures approximately 20 cm.
She is signed.
She has a little loop at the back of the head so she can be displayed on your walls. She should be displayed away from direct sunlight or from any source of wetness.
she is not a toy.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
