Pink hair and Fox Friend

This is an handmade textile artwok inspired by folk art dolls.
It represents a little character holding a fox in her arms.

The art doll is made from textiles dyed and stained in tea. Her clothes are not removable and they are made from a selection of new and upcycled fabrics.
The face of the little character is pretty minimalist. I have shaped the idea of a nose and she has a black glass eye. I believe that she is still rather expressive, what you see in her will probably depends on who is watching her.
Her hair is made from a long string of light pink felting wool. She has a few flowers on her left side.
Her dress is made from an upcycled pink toddler dress. Her skirt is made from tea dyed calico with many, many embroidery stitches, a few patches and a few holes.
The stitches are mostly from a beautiful orange/red embroidery floss.
In her arms she holds a friendly fox. The little fox is made from painted fabric with a few black stitches on the feet and nose.

At the back, she is signed and i have added a little loop of fabric so she can be displayed on your walls. She cannot stand, neither can she sit.
She measures approximately 22cm or 8.6 inches.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
