The Lonely

This is an handmade and hand sewn mixed media artwork.

The body is made from calico dyed and stained in coffee. The face and one "hand" are sculpted with air drying clay (painted and sealed) and a black glass eye. The hair is made of black felting wool.
She has wires in her legs which help her stand up against a wall but I would recommend displaying her on your walls as she is pretty wobbly on her feet.
I have added a button and a hoop system on the back of her head to help with hanging her on your walls.
She is signed.
She measures a 26cm.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
