Little bear and flower

This is a handmade textile artwork inspired by folk art dolls.

This lovely little bear is made from a mix of new and upcycled materials.
When I create my little animal dolls, I like to get inspired by the idea of children drawings.
I coloured the fabric of her body so she could get this beautiful warm tone. She has red cheeks and ears with pink.
She wears a pretty dress with a lace collar andv A few patches here and there. The dress is sewn on her body.
In her arms she hold a pink flower. The flower was drawn with my sewing machine and I used a stick picked up from one of my walks, to be used as a stem.

She has a little loop at the back of the head so she can be hung on your walls. She is signed.

Measurements
She is approximately 16cm tall and 3 or 4 cm wide.

As a doll maker inspired by folk art dolls, I want to say that the fabric fraying, the threads still showing or the way things are attached to each other are all voluntary processes. This is the way I find that my creations are beautiful. This is how I feel they are unique and original. It shows their frailties, flaws and their strength altogether.
I am working with upcycled materials mostly.
